Dog Training Service

Private Training

Private sessions are the most flexible way to work with Malia. Whether you need help with a specific issue, want to sharpen your dog's existing skills, or just want expert guidance as you raise your new dog, private training gives you dedicated one-on-one time tailored entirely to your situation.

Session structure

Every private session runs 60 to 90 minutes and follows a consistent structure — review of progress since the last session, focused skill work, and a clear homework plan for the week ahead. Sessions take place in your home or at locations around Calgary that match your training goals. If your dog struggles at the vet, we train at the vet parking lot. If walks are the issue, we walk your routes together.

Packages and single sessions

Most clients start with a package of four to six sessions, which gives us enough time to build a solid foundation and proof skills under real-world conditions. Single sessions are available for tune-ups, specific problem-solving, or a second opinion on a training challenge. I will recommend the right option after the initial assessment — there is no pressure to commit to a package before we have met your dog.

What to expect at the first session

The first session is part assessment, part training. I spend time observing your dog in their home environment, asking about their history and daily routine, and identifying the core issues you want to address. Then we start working. You will leave the first session with a training plan, practical homework, and a clear picture of what the path forward looks like. No generic handouts — everything is built around your specific dog.
